01 · The Villa

A place to slow down.

Set on a terraced hillside above the fishing village of Kioni, Ithaca Garden Villa is a private retreat built for stillness. Days unfold in the garden — under the fig and olive trees, along the shaded patio, in a quiet courtyard where the only intrusion is the sound of cicadas.

Inside, the villa is finished with a light hand: linen upholstery, natural stone, muted plaster, and considered fixtures throughout. A single, private residence — never shared — for the length of your stay.

Getting here

The journey to Ithaca.

The reward of Ithaca is that it is not easy to reach — quiet, unhurried, deliberate. Three routes we most often recommend.

01
From Athens · half a day

By air + ferry

  • ·Fly Athens → Kefalonia (Argostoli) — around 40 minutes.
  • ·Argostoli → Sami port by taxi or hire car (about 45 min).
  • ·Ferry Sami → Piso Aetos (about 30 min) via Ionian Pelagos.
  • ·Carriers on Athens–Kefalonia: Aegean, Olympic Air, EasyJet, Ryanair. Flight and ferry times don't always align — a private sea taxi is the elegant workaround.
02
From Athens · full day

By road + ferry

  • ·Drive Athens → Kyllini (~3 h 25, 287 km), then ferry via Poros to Ithaca.
  • ·Or Athens → Astakos (~3 h 52, 299 km), then ferry Astakos → Vathi.
  • ·KTEL buses run daily from Athens Kifisou terminal, with connecting ferry tickets bookable at the same window.
03
From Kefalonia · ~30 min

By private sea taxi

  • ·For guests arriving late or off-schedule, a private sea taxi from Kefalonia is the fastest, most flexible option.
  • ·Operators: Odysseas Sea Taxi, Ithaca Transfers (Kavallieratos), Zaharatos Sea Transfers.
  • ·We arrange this on your behalf on request — write to us when your flights are confirmed.

Everything else, quietly arranged.

The villa comes with the calm attention of Stella, our on-island housekeeper and concierge. From a candlelit private dinner on the terrace to a full-day boat charter, she arranges the small luxuries that make an Ithacan week feel effortless. Write to us at booking, or reply to your welcome email — Stella takes it from there.

Terrace dinners, seafood platters, or a full tasting menu — sourced from the Kioni fishing boats and the island's own producers.
Boat charters
Half or full-day sailing to Fiskardo, Meganissi and the hidden coves of Ithaca. Skippered classic caïques or modern day-cruisers.
In-villa massage & yoga
A calming Swedish massage, deep-tissue, or a private sunrise yoga session on the garden patio.
Grocery pre-stocking
The fridge and pantry fully stocked to your preferences before you arrive — pastries, coffee, wine, natural cosmetics, anything you need.
Transfers & sea taxi
Meet-and-greet at Kefalonia airport, private car transfers, and priority sea-taxi bookings when ferries don't align.
Excursions & guided walks
Sunset olive-grove walks, wine tastings in Kefalonia, a private historian's tour of Homer's Ithaca.
Requests are best made a few days ahead so we can bring in the right chef, boat, or therapist for your dates.

"We came for a week and stayed for two. It is the most quiet place I have ever known, and the light — the light is impossible to describe."
